The Mitsubishi MELSERVO-J2-Super series general-purpose AC servo boasts of even higher performance and functions compared to the MELSERVO-J2 series. It can be connected to a servo system controller or a similar device via a serial bus (SSCNET) and reads position data directly to perform operation.
By using data from a command unit, the speed and rotation direction of the servo motor can be controlled and precision positioning can be executed. To protect the power transistor in the main circuit from overcurrent due to sudden acceleration/deceleration or overload, a torque limit is imposed on the servo amplifier by the clamp circuit. It is also possible to change the torque limit value to any value with an external analog input or the parameter.
The new series features an RS-232C serial communication function which allows for the use of a MR Configurator (servo configuration software)-installed personal computer to perform parameter setting, test operation, status display monitoring, gain adjustment, etc. Real-time auto tuning enables automatic adjustment of the servo gains according to the machine.
The MELSERVO-J2-Super series servo motor is equipped with an absolute position encoder with a resolution of 131072 pulses/rev, guaranteeing more accurate control than the MELSERVO-J2 series. Adding a battery to the servo amplifier creates an absolute position detection system, making home position return unnecessary at power-on or alarm occurrence by setting a home position once.
